CHARLES KUGLE

Charles Kugle, 59, of Reedsville, died Saturday afternoon of a heart attack suffered while ice fishing on Lake Winnebago.
Funeral services will be at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Reedsville Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Reedsville. The Rev. William Koutnik will be the celebrant at the solemn requiem high Mass and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Kugle was born Sept. 1, 1900, in the Town of Franklin, Kewaunee County, son of the late Michael and Caroline Forst Kugle. He married the former Clara Wachal June 14, 1921, at Kellnersville. He was associated with his brother, Edward, in the Reedsville Motor Car Co. since 1919. Mr. Kugle was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary Church, a charter member of the Reedsville Lions Club and held a lifetime membership in the Reedsville Sportsmen's Club. He was also a member of Manitwooc Eagles Aerie 7??, Manitowoc Elks Lodge 687, Manitowoc Chapter of the Izaak Walton League, Manitowoc Sea Gulls and on the national, state and county Deputy Sheriff's Assn. Mr. Kugle was Fire Chief of the Reedsville Fire Dept. from 1927 until 1952. He served 10 years as director of the Wisconsin Fire Chiefs Assn. and
also was a past president of the Volunteer Firemen's Safety League which includes more than 28 departments in Northeastern Wisconsin.

A brother and a sister preceded him in death.

Survivors include the wife and two brothers, Joseph of Rt. 1, Denmark and Edward of Reedsville.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this Monday evening where the Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock and at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
