Death of Mrs. Lundy
The oldest lady in Carman, and probably one of the oldest in Manitoba passed away on Saturday last. In the person of Mrs. Catherine Lundy, rellet of the late Thos. Lundy said mother of Mr. C.R. Lundy of Carman. She had reached the ripe old age of 90 years, and though not in robust health, might have been spared for some time yet, had she not been attacked with la grippe, which found an easy victim, in one of her advanced years. The deceased came from United Empire Loyalist stock being the daughter of Joseph Silverthorne who came over to Canada from New Jersey during the troubled times of the close of the last century and settled at Cherry Hill, Cooksville Ont. Mr. and Mrs. Thos Lundy have lived for many years in the County of Wellington where the former died. The late Mrs. Lundy came to Manitoba with her son, C.R. Lundy fourteen years ago. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon and was largely attended.
