- — Dorothy Patterson McNeish, formerly of Gill Road, Pine Township, passed away at 11:43 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in Orchard Manor, Pine Township, where she was a resident for nine years. She was 95.
Mrs. McNeish was born April 22, 1919, in Grove City to Wilbur and Mary Beatty Patterson.
She was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School, class of 1937.
As a homemaker, Mrs. McNeish helped her husband farm.
After raising her children, she was employed as a custodian for 16 years in Grove City schools, retiring in 1983 after working at Highland Elementary School and Grove City Junior High School.
Mrs. McNeish was a member of Scotch Hill Presbyterian Church, Pine Township; AARP, the AARP Line Dancers of Grove City; and Pine Grove Homemakers.
Her husband, Warren V. "Herk" McNeish, whom she married Aug. 22, 1942, passed away Dec. 12, 1979.
Surviving are: four daughters, Lorna Slater and her husband Bruce; and Jane Ford, all Grove City; Susan L. McNeish, Erie; and Sandra Stottlemyer and her husband Ken, Hermitage; a sister, Phyllis Osborne, Pawleys Island, S.C.; and nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Mrs. McNeish was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Ruth Carothers, Jane Midberry and Mildred Webster; and two brothers, Thomas A. and W. Richard Patterson.
