Mildred Jennie Slayton, 95, a longtime Barre resident and more recently of Fortier's Community Care Home on Bailey Street, died July 4, 2014 at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. A complete obituary will be published in a later edition of The Times-Argus. The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, is in charge of the arrangements.

Predeceased by husband and parents, a brother, Norman Thompson, and four sisters, Kathleen Thompson, Irene Holmes, Gladys Lawson and Bertha Tucker
