Died – At his home in this city on Monday morning, April 2, William Jensen, aged 23 years, 9 months and 5 days.
The deceased was the eldest son of Emil Jensen and was born in New Holstein, June 26, 1870.

He came to Chilton with his parents at an early age and has made his home here ever since. He was married on Jan. 4, 1893 to Miss Louisa Knorr, who is now heart broken at the loss of a most devoted husband and companion, the suddenness of the shock making her bereavement all the harder to bear. Mr. Jensen was always a strong, vigorous looking young man the perfect picture of health. On March 23 he drove into the country with a brother on business and to all appearances was as well and happy as usual. On his return and while still at the shop he was suddenly stricken with paralysis from which he died on Monday last.

He was buried on Wednesday afternoon and the great number of mourning friends and relatives who followed his remains to the tomb showed the esteem in which he was held. William Jensen was a young man whose character was of the highest order. He was known throughout the town for his generosity and goodness of heart and was the flower of his father’s family. It might truly be said of him that “none knew him but to love him, none named him but in praise.”

He was associated in business with his father, in the firm of Jensen & Son and although so very young, was one of the most competent business men of our city. Manly, unselfish and devoted as he was to this young wife, his parents, brothers and sisters, Willie Jensen’s place where on earth can never be filled.

Mr. Wm. Greverus, of New Holstein, delivered the funeral oration in the German language and his remarks were most consoling to the relatives and friends of the deceased.
