On May 11, 1910 she was united in marriage to Lewis E. Wilson in Eagle Grove and to this union two daughters and two sons were born.
Ora was the youngest of a family of ten children and was the last surviving member of her family. She had lived her entire life in the Troy and Eagle Grove community.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, W. S. C. S., and Past President of the Ladies Aide.
In February, Ora suffered a broken hip and following a month's stay in the hospital she returned to her home for care. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson had their 64th wedding anniversary on May 11.
She passed away Sunday afternoon, May 19, in her home having reached the age of 83 years, one month, and 28 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Frances Middleton, Luella McCurry, Mary Watkins, Alice Bige, and Maude Allen; four brothers, Edgar, John, Fred, and William Allen.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis; four children: (Dorothy) Mrs. Howard Rasmussen of Hardy, (Helen) Mrs. Kenneth DeVore, Albuquerque, N. M.; Lysle of Hackensack, Minn.; and Warren of Boone; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22 in the United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald L. Forbes officiating, assisted by Rev. George Den Hartog. Interment was held in the family plot, Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
