Kathlyn (Kay) Farrell Garff (Wakefield), died peacefully Feb. 2, 2006. Born February 13, 1916, in Provo, Utah to Lewis Steele & Naomi Naylor Farrell.

Married G. Lynn Garff on April 21, 1935 in Butte, Montana, their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in December of that same year. They were married almost 60 years. Lynn died on November 20, 1994.

She later married G. Dwight Wakefield, who died November 2004.

She was an active member of the LDS Church, where she served on the Primary General Board for eight years, in addition to many stake and ward callings.

She was also active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and served as a member of the board of trustees of the Primary Children's Hospital. She was a PTA president several times. Kay was supervisor of the North Visitors Center on Temple Square and made many lasting friendships with the guides and staff.

Kay will always be remembered for her cheerful disposition and love of all those with whom she associated.

She is survived by her five children, Carole (Merrill) Rowley, Kathlyn (Michael) Thayne, Marcia (Jack) Savage, George (Pearl) Garff, Shelley (Glen) Taylor. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and her sister Marjorie Carmen.

Preceded in death by her parents, and sister Helen Grover.
