Sadie was the daughter of John D. Roddy and Mary Ellen McDevitt. She was married three times:
1. to Charles Arnold on October 27, 1894 in Somerset, Somerset Co., PA. [In the 1900 census, Charles, Sadie and their daughter are living in West Taylor Twp., Cambria Co., PA.] Charles and Sadie divorced before 1905.
2. to "Ross" Rosario Gallo ca. 1905. [In the 1910 census, Ross, Sadie and her daughter are living in Lower Yoder Twp., Cambria Co., PA.] Ross and Sadie divorced before 1920 (in the 1920 census, Ross [Rosario] is enumerated as single, age 34, living in Johnstown).
3. to George B. McClellan Blystone before 1920. [In the 1920 census, George and Sarah are living in Cowanshannock Twp., Armstrong Co., PA.]

Charles and Sadie Arnold were the parents of one child, Ruth E. Arnold.

It is believed that Sadie had no other children, neither by Charles, Ross nor George.

Note 1: Sadie's death certificate lists her as "Mrs. Geo. Blystone": born 4-1-1883 [sic] in Penna.; died April 18th 1931 in Washington Twp., Indiana Co., PA. Her parents are listed as John Roddy and Ellen McDivid [sic]; she was buried on April 21, 1931 in Johnstown, Pa. Sadie's death certificate does not specify in which Johnstown cemetery she was buried--it is assumed that she was laid to rest in the same cemetery as her parents.

Note 2: Sadie kept getting younger as the years passed. In the 1880 census, she was 7 years old, thus born ca. 1873. In 1900, born July 1875, in 1910, she was 28 years old and in 1920, 39 years old. Her birth year has been estimated to be 1873.

Note 3: When I inherited this memorial, Sadie was listed as "Sadie Jackson Blystone." Was Sadie perhaps married after Ross Gallo and before George Blystone to a Mr. Jackson? That seems highly unlikely. It appears that someone just confused the two sisters who married George Blystone because sister, Barbara, had been previously married to a Jackson.
