Murray Collins White, pioneer resident of Birmingham, died at 8 a.m. Saturday, at his residence, 728 Linwood Road, following a long illness.
Son of the late Sen. F.S. White and Octavia Collins White, Mr. White was born at Westpoint, Miss., July 14, 1874. He came to Birmingham in 1886.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Kirk Ware White; two sons, Lt.(jg) Frank S. White, III, stationed in the South Pacific, and Murray Collins White, Jr., Air Corps Reserve, stationed at Winston-Salem, N.C.; a brother, Frank S. White, Jr., and a sister, Miss Marguerite White.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Johns-Service Chapel, followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
