Blanton Odell James, 86, of Tuscumbia, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia. The Rev. John Malone will officiate. Mr. James was a lifelong and faithful member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He lived most of his life in Colbert County, Ala., and Lawrence County, Tenn. He has been in ill health for several years and has been a resident of Sunbridge Nursing Home, Tuscumbia, for the past seven years. He is survived by his sister, Louise James of Moulton; aunts, Grace James and Thelma Bonner, both of Russellville; and a host of cousins. Pallbearers will include Edison James, Amos Malone, Bud Benedall, Norris Sparks, J.T. Johnson and Larry Hester. The family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful caregivers at the nursing home. Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
