Passed away peacefully with his son Bryan at his side in the Royal Jubliee Hospital. He is predeceased by his parents Capt. Ivan Clarke (1971), Beatrice (2003), brothers Bill (1962), Jimmy (1977) and Buddy (1978). Appreciative of the gift of life are his children Bruce (Susie) Anchorage, Alaska; Bryan (Katielynn) Ravensdale, Washington; LindaRae, Seward, Alaska; and Richard, Springfield, Missouri; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Beverley (Barry) Kaehn, Victoria; Hugh, Ahousat, BC; Nada (Robert) Foster, Victoria; Arthur (Gloria), Tofino, BC; Patsy (Peter) Moseley, Nanaimo, BC; and Diane (Zenon) Bainas, Goodeve, Saskatchewan; and all of their families. Ray was raised by his grandmother Annie Emma (Carlow) Clarke at Refuge Cove, BC (Hot Springs Cove), and then later on Kings Rd. in Victoria. She was a two times UEL descendant who arrived as a teenager from New Brunswick with her family in Victoria in 1876. Ray was an early building contractor in and around Glen Lake and Langford and was a career Carpenter. In lieu of flowers donations made be made in Ray's name to the Salvation Army Addictions and Rehabilition Centre 525 Johnson St., Victoria, BC. Memorial service to be conducted by his sons Bruce and Bryan will held at Friday, June 22nd at 3:00 pm at McCalls Brothers Funeral Services, 1400 Vancouver St., Victoria, BC. Interment at Ross Bay Cemetery with his grandmother. 380975 .
