Carol Jeanne Crook was born February 15, 1946 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Samuel L. Crook and Mary Miranda (Miller) Crook.

Carol was raised in Knoxville and attended Knoxville schools. She worked for the Christian Opportunity Center workshop for a few years, before moving to C.O.C. in 1985. Carol enjoyed her C.O.C. family and the many trips they took together. She was especially close to her roommate and special friend, Jane DeZwarte. In her spare time, Carol enjoyed word search puzzles. She also faithfully attended the Assembly of God Church in Knoxville and later the Open Bible Church in Pella. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her nieces and nephews, whom she adored.

Carol passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the Pella Regional Health Center at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 10 days.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and a sister, Mary Margaret.

Those left to honor her memory include her siblings: Ruth and Larry Hines of Clive and Alan and Cathy Crook and John and Deb Crook all of Knoxville; nieces and nephews: (Ruth's family) Marvin (Kathy), Judi (Gary & Missy, Chrystal & Donnie, Danny & Sabrina, Mary & Ben); Tammy & Chris (Cassandra, David); Todd & Becky (Madison, Mikaila, Brandyn & Cera) and Nicki & Johnny (Faith, Hope, Christian & Amber); (Alan's family) Becky & Rick (Tony, Casie, Cari & Caitlyn) and Chris & Cletta (Cole, Destini, Lexy, Josh, Dylan, Tanner and Kaya); (John's family) Karl & Robin (Kaden) and Bertina & Jim; 2 great-great nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins and her C.O.C. family and friends.
