Charles Cecil Clary of Macomb, passed away on July 2, 2014 at 91 years of age.

He was born in Fulton County on April 15, 1923 to Francis Marvin and Edna Mae Shaw Clary. He married Betty A. Hall in Industry on November 1, 1953. They were married for 59 years when Betty passed away in March, 2014.

He is survived by his children, Linda Clary of Dallas, Texas, James (Sheila) Clary of Scottsdale, Arizona and Ken Clary of Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was "Papa Cecil" to granddaughter, Erin Clary of Scottsdale and "Uncle Cecil" to many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by sisters, Lois Maxine Litchfield of St. Louis, Missouri and June LeMaster of Arlington, Washington and sister-in-law, Joan Clary of Kewanee.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Francis, Clarence, Edwin and Marvin Clary, his parents and his wife, Betty.

Charles graduated from Bardolph High School. He served his country during a 3 year World War II combat deployment in New Guinea, Luzon and the Phillipines. He was a radar operator in the US Army Signal Corp.

Charles owned and operated Clary's Standard Service in Macomb for 31 years. After his retirement, he worked for local car dealers.

He was a member of American Legion Post 6 in Macomb for more than 60 years and a member of the VFW Post 1921.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend Wally Holt officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb with full military honors being conducted by the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Illinois Kidney Foundation.
