"FRANCIS E. MILLS-CLARK 13 JAN 1905
Mrs. Frances E. Mills-Clark died on Wednesday at her home in Middletown. She was born Sept. 28, 1831, in the town of Goshen. Her maiden name was Frances E. Clinton, and she was a daughter of Charles and Clarrisa Clinton and a direct descendent of Governor DeWitt Clinton. In 1853, she married Dr. James H. Mills, of Middletown. At the breaking out of the Civil War Dr. Mills enlisted and during the greater part of his service, which lasted until the close of the Rebellion, Mrs. Mills greatly assisted him in his hospital work. Dr. Mills died in 1872. In 1895 Mrs. Mills was married to George T. Clark, a highly respected citizen of Brooklyn, who died in Middletown in 1900.
The deceased is survived by two sons, Wesley B. Mills, of Sussex, N.J., and Charles S. Mills, of Middletown."
