CANTRELL FAMILY RECORD...The Cantrell/Cantrall Family is of Welch, Scotish, and Irish descent. Zebulon Cantrell came from Wales to America about the year 1700. Some say that two brothers accompanied him, but of this I find no record. It is said, they owned a brickyard, and built the first brick house in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His wife is unknown. Now Zebulon had a son Joseph, and Joseph had a son, Joshua. By the year 1958, Joshua's great grandson, John S Cantrall, of Derby, Kansas, had the original evidence of naturalization papers that are dated the 6th day of Sept. 1777. This information is from: The Cantrell Family Biography compiled by 7th generation Carmi G Cantrell of Irvington, Indiana Sept 1898; and a letter written by Adeline Hull of Clinton, Illinois May 3, 1958.
