Mrs. Margaret Virginia Pruitt Smith, 87, of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem. She was born in Patrick County, VA on March 10, 1927 to the late Joseph and Nannie Rogers Pruitt. Mrs. Smith was owner and operator of a dress shop and owner of a laundry and drycleaners in China Grove, NC and she attended The Peoples Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Jerry Wagoner of Clemmons; a daughter-in-law, Diane Smith Neithold of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren and spouses, Angela Reece and Billy of Clemmons, Shane Wagoner and Kim of Advance, Mandi Newson and Adam, Lindsey Kinton and Adam all of Fuquay-Varina; and great grandchildren, Emily Wagoner, Graham Wagoner, Madison Wagoner, and Sarah Reece; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Ira "Buddy" Smith; a son, Billy Smith, and twenty three brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Zane Fishel officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 PM until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to her caregivers, Kay Bennett, Mary Vernon, Carolyn Surratt and Windy Akers and the staff of Kate B. Reynolds.
