Roanoke - The funeral of John D. Moritz, 74, who died Wednesday, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St Peter's Lutheran Church, six miles northeast of Roanoke. The Rev Ervin Buhs will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 7 to 9 tonight at the Vincent Memorial Home, Roanoke. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Mr. Moritz was born Feb. 10, 1900, in Roanoke, a son of John J. and Fenna Woltzen Moritz. He married Anna C. Baumann Aug. 28, 1923, at Benson.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Elfrieda Peters, Secor; a son, Ronald, 17 Ardith Drive, Normal; four grandchildren; three brothers, David and Albert, both of Benson; Bernhard, Secor; two sisters, Mrs. Greta Ekiss, Roanoke; Mrs. Emma Barth, Flanagan.

A brother and a sister preceded him in death.

He was a member of St Peter Lutheran Church and was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent for many years. He was a charter member of the Brotherhood of the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the Heart Fund.
