Dale 'Bud' Robert Maurer
Age 89, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012. Dale was born Jan. 17, 1923, in Massillon, the son of the late Alfred and Clara (Ulli) Maurer. Dale was also preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Evans Maurer; brother, Kenny Maurer; sister, Ellen Boerner; and nephew, William Boerner. Dale was a lifelong resident of Massillon and was a graduate of Washington High School. He served in the United States Army Air Force as a machine gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress during World War II. After returning home he was employed by Evans Auto Parts for many years, and ended his working career with the Perry Local School System. Dale has been a member of the Massillon Lions Club for 44 years and served as president in 1985. He volunteered with the Lazy Eye testing, candy days, and was an avid theater volunteer. He will be especially remembered by many, for his performances during the Lions Club Annual Shows when he would perform with the Beef Trust dance line. He was a member of the American Legion, Massillon AARP, St. Mary's Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus...
Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillon. His burial is at Rose Hill Memorial [Park] in Massillon.
