John Gilbert "J.C." Cobb, 70, of Indianapolis, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis.
He was born March 30, 1930, in Carrollton, Ky., the son of Thomas Butler Cobb and Carrie Nettie Pierce. He was a union iron worker for 33 years, retiring in 1982.
He is survived by his wife, Delories Ann Stone Cobb; two sons, Johnny V. Cobb and James R. Cobb, both of Indianapolis; one daughter, Wenona "Reece" T. Kincaid of Indianapolis; one sister, Virginia Lou Jean Cobb of Dillsboro; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Judy Ann Cobb; two brothers, James Cobb and Thomas B. Cobb Jr.; two sisters, Ollie Meade Whitledge and Beulah Mae McCormick; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stirling-Gerber Funeral Home, 5950 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis, with burial in Washington Park Cemetery East, Indianapolis.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
