Mrs. Cline was born January 23, 1924, in Cleveland County to the late Lester G. Self and Peggy Queen Self.
She graduated cum laude from High Point College and pursued a teaching career from 1944 until her retirement from the Cleveland County Schools in 1984. Mrs. Cline taught at Burns at Polkville and Burns High School. She received the Star Teacher Award in 1969 and was voted Teacher of the Year at Burns High School 1979-1980. She also took a group of students to France for study in 1965. Her passion was her family and her students. After retirement she enjoyed her flower garden.
She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church where she taught the Hester Cline Sunday School Class for many years and was awarded "Mother of the Year" in 1984.
In addition to her parents, two brothers, Lawton Self and Ernest Self, preceded Mrs. Cline in death.
Services will be at New Prospect Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
