MRS HUNTER DIES FROM INFLUENZA

Columbia Woman Expires At Sumter

Sumter, Jan 23- Mrs Sarah Edmunds Hunter, wife of James E Hunter of Columbia and daughter of Dr and Mrs S H Edmunds of this city, died shortly after 1 o'clock this morning after an illness of about two weeks. Mrs Hunter was stricken with influenza while spending the Christmas holidays with her parents but her condition was not regarded as serious until last Saturday, when she suddenly took a turn for the worse. Throughout the past week she lingered between life and death with her parents and friends praying for her recovery. The end came at the Toumey hospital, where she had been taken during the first part of the week.

Mrs Hunter was the eldest child and only daughter of Dr and Mrs Edmunds and was only 28 years old. She was born in Sumter and spent all of her life here until her marriage five years ago to James E Hunter of Columbia.

Mrs Hunter was a graduate of Sumter high school and of Winthrop college. She is survived by her husband, three children, the eldest not yet four years old and the youngest an infant of three months; her father ad mother and five brothers.

The funeral services will be held from the residence of her father on East Calhoun street at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Interment will be made at the Sumter cemetery.
