Bessie Hodge Vaughn, 94, of Peachtree Centre, Gaffney, formerly of Goucher Community, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Peachtree Centre.
A native of Jonesville, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas Hodge and Mary Jane (Gibson) Hodge, and widow of the late James Haskell Vaughn, Sr.
She was a retired Lunchroom Dietician from Goucher Elementary School and a member of Goucher Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Marlene Martin and husband Gene of Gaffney, SC, JoAnn Cauble and husband Rex of Williamson, GA, and Pat Baker and husband Ron of Seneca, SC; a son, James H. Vaughn, Jr. and wife Patricia of North Augusta, SC; brother, Forest Hodge of Jonesville, SC.
Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006 at Goucher Baptist Church. Interment was in Goucher Baptist Church Cemetery. The body lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
