Barbara Saunders, 58, of Flemingsburg, wife of 29 years to Donald Saunders, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
Born in Mt. Sterling, she was the daughter of Alma Amburgey Sons of Mt. Sterling and the late Corbett Sons.
Barbara was retired from A.O. Smith in Mt. Sterling, a member of New Vision Church in Flemingsburg, and she loved to fish.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by: a step-son, Warren (Sandy) Saunders of Grange City; a step-daughter, Sharon (Bryan) Burge of Oxford IN; a brother-in-law, Gerald (Wa) Saunders of Fleming County; brothers and sisters, Donnie, David, James, Carolyn, Peggy, Lisa, and Mary Sons; good friend, Gary Copher; and foster son, Chris Sons.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by: a sister, Joyce Sons; and a brother Gary Sons.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Gail Skaggs and the Rev. Cleve King. Burial will be in the Longview Cemetery in Bethel.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
