Lee passed away suddenly and peacefully May 4, 2003 in Gig Harbor, WA, at the age of 88 . He was born in Mead, WA in 1914 to Earl and Maryetta Challender. They came to Vaughn in 1927; he has resided in this area ever since. In his earlier days he was a logger; was a welder at Bremerton Naval Shipyard and at Todd Shipyard in Seattle; picked brush as a second job; worked at General Meats in Seattle for his brother-in-law several times; Commercial fisherman; and belonged to 7 unions at one time; member of the Lions. Lee was best known for his story telling and selling raffle tickets. He published 2 books. Lee was preceded in death by his mother and father, 1 brother, 2 sisters, stepson Burton Ross Jr.
