Services for Mrs. Mary A. Johnson, 92, of Abernathy were held Friday in the Abernathy Church of Christ with Condy Billingsley officiating.

Burial was in Abernathy Cemetery under direction of Chambers Funeral Home. Mrs. Johnson died Wednesday night at Lubbock's Highland Hospital. The Arkansas native had lived in Abernathy since 1920 and was a member of the Abernathy Church of Christ.

Survivors include three sons, Herman of Lubbock, Melvin of Abernathy and Orgill of Portales, N.M.; a daughter, Mrs. Nannie Lou Patterson of Lubbock; three brothers, Homer Gaither of Sidney, AK., Claude Gaither of Greenville and Virgil Gaither of Cave City, AK.; five sisters, Mrs. Fay Phillips of Wenatchee, WA., Minnie Smith of Plainview, AK., Lelia Hamm of Anaheim, CA., Julie Haywood of Wichita, KS., and Velta Gaither of Batesville, AK.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Chuck Webster, Reed Lacy, Joe Oswalt, Mayo Loper, Charles, Lambert and Clifton Newton.
