Nardy Gilberg, age 86, of Blackduck, Minnesota, died Monday, June 23, 2008 at Neilson Place, Bemidji, MN.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Blackduck, MN with Rev. Allan Wierschke officiating. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Blackduck, MN. Arrangements are entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, MN.

Casket bearers will be Jesse Hall, Timothy Hall, Kelyn Harrup, Sam Kapala, Don Dieckmann and David Stanko.

Narciss Stanko was born October 22, 1921 in Blackduck, MN to John and Mary (Svac) Stanko. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Blackduck High School. Shortly after high school, she and her sister moved to Minneapolis, MN where Nardy eventually went to work for Sears and Roebuck working there off and on until retiring from there in 1985.

On June 21, 1947, she married Sheldon (Shelly) Gilberg at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackduck, MN. They would reside in Minneapolis until moving to Blackduck in 1985.

Nardy was a devoted mother and grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a friend and would always take time to stop and chat. Nardy also loved to travel and spend time with family. Nardy's name Narciss comes from her mother, Mary, who enjoyed the lovely flower of the same name.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Marilyn (Don) Dieckmann of Bagley, MN, Barbara (Chris) Kapala of Champlin, MN, Janet Gilberg of Japan, 1 son, Mark (Sandra) Gilberg of Tenstrike, MN, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Helen Rolf and Dorothy (Ernie) Chovan both of Minneapolis, MN, 2 brothers Daniel (Dolores) Stanko of Minneapolis, MN and Paul Stanko of Two Harbors, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sheldon, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and a grandchild, Shannon Kapala.
