LANETT -- Mrs. Mary Jim Ray, 75, of Lanett died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Ala.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett.
Mrs. Ray is survived by her son, Phillip M. (Andrea) Ray Sr. of LaFayette; three grandsons, Phillip M. (Meredith) Ray Jr. of Huguley, Ben H. (Wendy) Ray of Opelika and Samuel Ray; four great-grandchildren, Katrina Ray, Benjamin Ray, Danielle Ray and Bryan Ray; and two nieces, Phyllis and Libby.
Born April 14, 1927 in West Point, Mrs. Ray was a retired employee of WestPoint Pepperell's Lanett Mill, where she had worked over 45 years in the weaving department. She was of the Baptist faith, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 431 in Lanett. Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Ray. She was the daughter of the late Tom Geter.
The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 18 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
