Mr. Rodger L. Geter, 68, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Hospice LaGrange.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with Dr. Michael Reeves and Daryl Ozley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately before and after the memorial service.

Mr. Geter was born June 4, 1944, in Lanett, Alabama, son of the late Thomas Jefferson Geeter and Corine White Geeter. A resident of LaGrange most of his life, he was Baptist by faith and was retired from Defender Industries.

Survivors include two sisters, Betty Jean Statum of LaGrange and Shelia Ann Stewart of Dadeville, AL; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Irene Ozley, Thomas Geeter, Jr., Leila Geeter, Danny Geeter, Ruthie Moore, and Ronnie Geeter.

Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
