Mr. Gary Dale Shelburne, 66, Mooresville, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Franciscan St. Francis Health, Mooresville, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

On Nov. 29, 1947, in Noblesville, Gary was the first born of Howard Dale and Rebecca J. Wire Shelburne. Growing up he shared his childhood with four sisters and six brothers. In May 1966, with great Greyhound pride, Gary graduated from Carmel High School with his class. Patriotism beckoned and Gary answered the call serving our country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Marines.

In Blaine, Minn., on Oct. 31, 1987, Gary married the love of his life Pamela Sears Gordon. Together they shared 26 years of life's adventures.

In 2013, Gary retired as a warehousing operations manager for Jacobson's Corporation. His memberships include the Indiana Flycasters and Legion Riders. He always enjoyed the freedom of riding his black Harley-Davidson motorcycle and cruising with his Legion buddies.

Survivors include his wife, Pam, at home; a bonus son, Ebon Gordon, Isanti, Minn.; four sisters, Tammy See, Rochester, Betsy Shelburne, State College, Pa., Misty DePoy and husband Timothy, Fulton, and Mindy Navarro and husband Hector, Rochester; six brothers, Jeffery Shelburne and wife Jeanie, Rochester, Scott Shelburne, Camden, S.C., Rusty Shelburne and wife Laurie, Scott, Mich., Rodney Shelburne and wife Darla, Warsaw, Randy Shelburne and wife Carol, Rochester, and Barney Shelburne and wife Lorraine, Byron, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Gary in death are his parents.

A celebration of the life of Mr. Gary Dale Shelburne is 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 1st, 2014, at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Mr. David Nance of the First United Methodist Church, Mooresville, will officiate. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to his service. Gary will be laid to eternal rest on the family plot at Rochester's IOOF Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the U.S. Marines Honors Team and the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard.
