COWARD Gladys Coward of Jacksonville passed away peacefully on June 17, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Melbourne, FL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 26 in the chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park. Interment will immediately follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Gladys was a beloved Mother and GrandMother and a devout Christian. She was born in Vanceboro, NC in 1933 and moved to Jacksonville in 1962. She was a member at Evangel Temple on Jacksonville's west side where she enjoyed serving as a door greeter every week. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie B Coward. She is survived by her son, Douglas Coward, Cathy Stacy, Sandra Coalley, Carolyn Lee and Les R Coward; 11 grandchildren; brother, Buck Hoell; and many nieces and nephews.
