Macon, GA- Robbie Hunnicutt King, 83, was born March 11, 1931 and went to her heavenly home on June 25, 2014. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Reverend Stephen N. Johnson, the Reverend Jerry Garner, and the Reverend Benjamin Newberry officiating.
Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 7495 Knoxville Road, Lizella, Georgia 31052.
Mrs. King was the daughter of Jacob Irvin Hunnicutt and Gladys Gatliff Hunnicutt, preceding her in death. She was also predeceased by her husband, James R. King, Jr.; son, Robert Doyle King; brother, Thomas J. Hunnicutt; and two sisters, Katherine H. Copeland and Dorothy H. Cranford.
Dorothy raised Robbie and Tommy while their mother worked. Robbie retired twice but liked working much better. She retired from LJL Truck Center after working 22 years. Mrs. King was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Frances Newberry Sunday School Class, former member of Mabel White Baptist Church, and former member of J.C. Johnson Sunday School Class. Her hobbies were camping, fishing, sewing, and crochet. In 1961 she joined Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars and served in every elected office, was President three different times, and District President for three years. Her husband was a member from 1959 until his death in 1997.
Mrs. King is survived by a son, sister-in-law, three beautiful nieces, five nephews, many great nieces and great nephews, family friend, and her three Yorkies.
