MONMOUTH - Sheila S. Moody, 76, of Monmouth, departed Wednesday, June 25th, 2014, to be with her Christian Father, she was at her home, with her devoted and loving family at her side. Sheila had courageously battled COPD for over the past 10 years. She was born August 13th 1938, in Livermore Falls, Maine to Raymond and Nadine (Pearl) Sampson.

Sheila spent most of her younger years living in Fairfield, Maine. She loved riding and showing her beloved horse "Copper" together they won the Palomino State championship, and many ribbons and medals. Sheila graduated, with honors, from Lawrence High School in 1956, and continued her education at Thomas College, studying accounting and taxation.

During her college years, Sheila met and her husband, Ronald Moody, they were married in 1959. She left college early to help Ron complete his education. For the duration of their marriage she was a mainstay totally devoted to supporting her husband at home and at work. She worked part time in the family business, Sampson Super Markets. When her husband was offered one of the Sampson Stores after graduation she emphatically said NO.

Ron and Sheila started a long career in public education that took them from Deer Isle H.S. to Woodland H.S. and finally to Monmouth Academy. Needing to supplement a teacher's salary in the 50's, Ron and Sheila started a Tax Consultant business in 1961. Together they operated Moody's Tax Firm in Deer Isle for more than 25 years. She loved preparing for family gatherings and holidays. One thing was always certain, friends and family could always count on her when in need. Sheila will always be remembered for straight answers to all situations and being a loving and caring mother and devoted wife. Besides being a devoted loving and supporting wife, she was adored by her three children, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. They called her Nana.

Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Ron Moody of Monmouth; and her daughter and son, Tamarah Chick and husband, Randy of Leeds; and Robert Moody and his wife, Angela of Sidney; 7 grandchildren, Amanda Chick of Leeds, Kayla Denny and husband, Josiah of Poland; Ethan Chick of Leeds; Renee and Kristy Moody of Sidney; Dr. Tiffany Brakefield, US Air Force, and Roxie Bournival and her husband, Ian from Clinton; 4 great-grandchildren, Marshall, Titus, Gabe and Esther of Poland; Sheila is also survived by her faithful loving sister, Brenda S. Martin and her husband, Bob of Richmond, California.

Her family would like to express special thanks to her friends, Carol Pettengill and Sylvia Mundorff for their support when she needed them, and also to the hospice care nurses and especially her CNA Doreen you were all God sent.
