Sheila spent most of her younger years living in Fairfield, Maine. She loved riding and showing her beloved horse "Copper" together they won the Palomino State championship, and many ribbons and medals. Sheila graduated, with honors, from Lawrence High School in 1956, and continued her education at Thomas College, studying accounting and taxation.
During her college years, Sheila met and her husband, Ronald Moody, they were married in 1959. She left college early to help Ron complete his education. For the duration of their marriage she was a mainstay totally devoted to supporting her husband at home and at work. She worked part time in the family business, Sampson Super Markets. When her husband was offered one of the Sampson Stores after graduation she emphatically said NO.
Ron and Sheila started a long career in public education that took them from Deer Isle H.S. to Woodland H.S. and finally to Monmouth Academy. Needing to supplement a teacher's salary in the 50's, Ron and Sheila started a Tax Consultant business in 1961. Together they operated Moody's Tax Firm in Deer Isle for more than 25 years. She loved preparing for family gatherings and holidays. One thing was always certain, friends and family could always count on her when in need. Sheila will always be remembered for straight answers to all situations and being a loving and caring mother and devoted wife. Besides being a devoted loving and supporting wife, she was adored by her three children, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. They called her Nana.
