East Midvale - Charles William Thorton, 61, 144 E. 7500 South, died Wednesday at 2:10 p.m., at his home after a heart attack.
Born Sept. 11, 1897, Midvale, to Joseph A. and Martha Jane Smith Thornton. Married Grace Greenwood June 18, 1924, Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a plumbing contractor.
Survivors: widow; son, four daughters: Calvin Charles, Mrs. Dale (Lucille) Jewkes, both of East Midvale; Mrs. Hue (Carol) Jewkes, Kamas, Summit County; Mrs. Glen (Emma Jane) Nelson, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Don (LaVon) Merrill, Bluffdale; 15 grandchildren; and one brother.
Funeral Saturday at 1 p.m., East Midvale First LDS Ward Chapel, 7500 S. State. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State, Midvale on Friday 6-8 p.m., Saturday prior to services.
