On June 30, 1990, she married Roderick F. Steele in Brockton, Mass.
She was employed for many years in the field of nursing as a certified nurse's aide and medical technician for Maple Crest Rehabilitation and Living Center in Madison. She was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary, the Bridge Church and Rath Ceramics. Cynthia enjoyed sewing, knitting, ceramics and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Roderick F. Steele of Solon; two daughters, Kimberly Hoppe and her husband, Jeff, of Utah, and Danielle Griffin and her husband, John, of Vassalboro; daughter-in-law, Brenda Jean MacKenzie and her husband, Kirk, of Billerica, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Addie, Colton, R.J., Ashlynn, Alyssa, Keina and Liana; two sisters, Sandy Myrer and her husband, Ken, of New Hampshire, and Kathy Knight, of New Hampshire; and sister-in-law, Barbara Weight, of Massachusetts. On the day of her passing her grandson, Colton Miles Hoppe, was born.
A graveside service will be held at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
