Death Of Mrs. Barrett
The death of Charlotte Barrett, widow of the late Norman, J. Barrett, occurred at her home Just south of this village, early Monday morning, January 18, 1926. Her death being the result of shock Friday previous to that date. She failed gradually from that time until the end came. Charlotte Barrett was born Dec. 3, 1837, In the town of Madrid, N. Y. She was married to her cousin, Norman J. Barrett, Nov. 11, 1856 and they lived In this and neighboring towns most of their lives. To them were born nine children, but only three survived their aged mother. Mr. Barrett died Sept. 9, 1918. Mrs Barrett was a bright, capable women, loved and respected by her family and frlends. Her mind was clear and she was active until the latest illness. Although 88 years of age her last birthday, she did the housework for herself and son. Her surviving children are: W.J. Barrett, with whom She lived, and Mrs. Ella Sabins, of St. Regis Falls, and Norman J. Barrett, of Dickinson Center. Besides these there are three Sisters, Mrs. J. E. S. LaRowe, St. Regis Falls, Mrs. Winfield, Stock-well, Athol, Mass., and Mrs. Caroline Allen, Norwood, N. Y. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Her funeral was held at the home of the deceased Wednesday morning, Rev. A. M. Babcock, pastor of the Holiness Movement church, officiating. She was buried at Moira beside her late husband.
