Leroy E. Blauser, 79, of 366 Blauser Lane, Oil City, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie. He was born Sept. 30, 1934, at Coal Hill, the son of Arthur J. and Hazel M. Flockerzi Blauser.

He grew up on a farm, loved to till the land, watch his crops grow, and was an avid hunter. He graduated in 1953 from Cranberry Area High School. He is a 49-year member of the Coudersport Consistory, a member of Jefferson Masonic Lodge Chapter 225-Brookville, the Clarion and Venango County Shriners Club and Zem Zem Shriners of Erie and Olive Temple Lodge No. 557 of Tionesta. He retired from National Fuel Gas serving 37 years and was distribution supervisor at time of retirement. In 1964, he was transferred to Marienville as sub foreman and was very active in the Rotary Club, the Firemen's Club, and Manager of the Little League and helped with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. He was a member of Heckathorn United Methodist Church.

On July 1, 1955, with Rev. Nelson Stants officiating, he married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth M. Perry, at Heckathorn United Methodist Church, and she survives, with a son Donald and wife, Kathleen Blauser, of Brookville; his grandchildren, James and wife, Catherine Blauser, of Blauser Lane, Amanda Blauser and fiance, Bryan Culp, of Crown, Lisa and Jess McCullough of Ohio, and Melanie Blauser of Pittsburgh; three great-grandchildren (the loves of his life) Andrew James Blauser, Haylee Catherine Blauser and Mercedes Nicole McCullough; a sister, Elizabeth (Melvin) Confer; a brother Clayton (Connie) Blauser, all of Oil City; his best friend and hunting buddy of 50 years, Tom and wife Dianne Sayers of Connecticut; a close cousin, Fred, and wife, Lois Marsh, of California; a brother-in-law, Wayne, and wife, Sandy Perry, of Seneca; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Travis James Blauser (October 1999); a brother, Harold A. Blauser; three sisters, Catherine Conner, Betty Blauser and Barbara Snyder; and his in-laws, Everett and Phyllis Perry.

Services will be at 2 pm Thursday at Heckathorn United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Kifer officiating. Interment will be in Heckathorn Cemetery.
