Belle Winn, the only daughter and youngest of four children of Isaac and Maria Barker Winn, was born July 13, 1862 in Vinton County, Ohio, and passed away after six years of failing health, August 6, 1938, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Pearse in Hamilton, Missouri.
With her brothers, she came to Missouri in 1882 and has resided in the community continuously since that date.
On February 5, 1890, she was married to Lyman D. Brown, who preceded her in death November 27, 1932. To them was born one daughter, Ruby.
Other surviving relatives are a step daughter, Mrs. Edgar Chase and her three daughters, Mrs. Guy Pitts, Mrs. Fred Jeske and Mrs. William Crume; three great grandsons, Neal Pitts, Phillip and Robert Jeske; one brother W.P. Winn of Dublin, Texas. Her brothers George and Ira D. preceded her in death several years ago.
At the age of twelve years she was converted and joined the Log Creek Baptist church near her home in Ohio. In 1890 she united with the Hamilton Baptist church, where, as long as health permitted, she took an active part in every department of the church.
On March 28, 1890, she became a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She filled nearly all the chairs and was Past Noble Grand. When health permitted she was a regular attendant. At the time of her decease she was the oldest member.
