Violet Dahmer, 70, of Cleveland, died Friday, Oct. 4, 1991, at a Cleveland hospital.
Born March 31, 1921, in Petersville, Ky., a daughter of the late Thomas and Nancy Smith McCleese, she attended Thackers Chapel Christian Holiness Church of Indian Creek, Ky.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Dorsey Ray Dahmer; two sons, William Ernest Duff of Raleigh, N.C., and Kenneth Duff of Charleston, W.Va.; a daughter, Ruby Rader of Reader, W.Va.; four brothers, Elmer McCleese and Thomas McCleese Jr., both of Maysville, Ky., Avery McCleese of Morrow and Clinton McCleese of Flatrock, Mich.; five sisters, Opal Duff of Southgate, Mich., Dorothy Lang of Georgetown, Irene Richey of Ripley, Imogene French of Maysville and Eleanor Lawrence of Bethel; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Lawrence; and two brothers, Jess McCleese and Glenn McCleese.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, Ky., with the Rev. Johnnie Sparks officiating and interment in McEldowney Cemetery in Stricklett, Ky. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until services Tuesday at the funeral home.
