Miss Frances Meeky Woltz of 312 North Main Street, Clover, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the age of 99. She was born in Clover on June 9, 1913 to the late Frank W. Woltz Sr. and the late Maude Heidelburg Woltz.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank W. Woltz Jr. and Thomas H. Woltz; one sister, Elizabeth W. "Beth" Hagood.

Surviving are her nephew, Talbott B. "Hap" Hagood Jr., of Clover, and a number of friends in the community and church.

Miss Woltz was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the College of William & Mary after which she served as a high school librarian in South Boston, Warren County and Halifax County.

She was a dedicated volunteer for Staunton River Battlefield State Park, Noland Days and Clover Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. In addition, she was a member of the Historic Staunton River Foundation and served on the Clover Planning Commission.

For the Clover Centennial in 1995, she co-authored the history of Clover. She was the oldest member of Clover United Methodist Church where she served in various capacities including president of the United Methodist Women.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bonnie Pizzeck officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel from 10 a.m. til service time.
