Private family funeral services for George Brandes, 63, formerly of Chilton, a patient at the Winnebago State Hospital since 1944, who was found dead Thursday near the hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home in Chilton. The Rev. Q. M. Moeschberger, pastor of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Chilton. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Mr. Brandes had walked away from the hospital sometime Sunday, and an autopsy report showed that he apparently died of a heart attack on Monday. His body was discovered Thursday near the Soo Line Railroad tracks, about one-third mile south of the hospital.

Born July 3, 1904 in Chilton, he was the son of the late Henry and Bertha Pagel Brandes. He formerly worked as a lineman for the Wisconsin Public Service Corp m Chilton. He never married.

Survivors include one brother, A. 0. Brandes of Chilton, and one sister, Mrs. Viola Zeulhke of Milwaukee. Another brother preceded him in death.
