Mr. Brandes had walked away from the hospital sometime Sunday, and an autopsy report showed that he apparently died of a heart attack on Monday. His body was discovered Thursday near the Soo Line Railroad tracks, about one-third mile south of the hospital.
Born July 3, 1904 in Chilton, he was the son of the late Henry and Bertha Pagel Brandes. He formerly worked as a lineman for the Wisconsin Public Service Corp m Chilton. He never married.
Survivors include one brother, A. 0. Brandes of Chilton, and one sister, Mrs. Viola Zeulhke of Milwaukee. Another brother preceded him in death.
