Milton Selman
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Wetmore Funeral Home for Milton T. (Porky) Selman, 64, of 454 W. Jefferson, who died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday.
The Rev. Darrell Parker, First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home this evening and until time of services. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.
Masonic rites will be conducted at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home by Porter Lodge 137 F & AM, of which he was a member.
A life-long county resident, he was born here on June 18, 1908, a son of Ellis and Ora (Henry) Selman. On Sept. 7, 1931 in Valparaiso he married Mildred Brown, who survives.
He served in the Seabees during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Charles Pratt Post 94, and Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend.
He was the former owner-operator of a retail ice business and bulk milk transport firm. At the time of his death he was a custodian at the Glendale Medical Center.
Surviving besides his widow are three brothers, Lawrence D. and Hartzell, both of Valparaiso, and John W., Kouts. He was preceded in death by two daughters in infancy; a brother, Lester; and three sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Brobeck, Mrs. Grace Baugher and Mrs. Alice Barnes.
