A Calvert City man is charged with two counts of murder after a collison that claimed the lives of two Princeton residents Saturday.
Rolando Valesquez, 35, is charged in the deaths of Terry Boyd 49, and 35-year-old Gail Richardson, after his 1990 Pontiac van struck the 2003 Honda motorcycle operated by Boyd, with Richardson as a passenger, on U.S. 62, 2 miles west of Calvert City, at approximately 12:52 p.m.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Chris Anderson, the accident reconstructionist in charge of the investigation, said Valesquez was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane when the van ran off the roadway, struck a guardrail, and continued forward eastbound, striking Boyd's motorcycle.
Valesquez then fled the scene on foot, Anderson said. He was later apprehended by Calvert City police officers, who charged him with two counts of murder, DUI, first offense, with aggravting circumstances, leaving the scene of an accident, four counts of wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing and evading, failure to report an accident and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He was lodged in the Marshall County Jail, police said.
Boyd and Richardson, who were both wearing helmets, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner's Office.
Boyd was co-manager of Purcell Tire in Princeton. Richardson was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed by Mediacom in Princeton.

Services for Terry Randell Boyd, 49, Princeton, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morgan's Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Church Cemetery, Caldwell County.

A native of Caldwell County, he was born Dec. 20, 1954, the son of Deward Boyd, Caldwell County, and the late Ruby Lear Boyd Oakley. He was co-manager of Purcell Tire in Princeton.

In addition to his father, survivors include his wife, Vickie McPherson Boyd; his stepfather, Bobby Oakley, Possum Trot; his stepmother, Patsy Boyd, Caldwell County; two sons, Rowdy McCoy and Terry Shane Boyd, both of Princeton, a daughter, Penny Clark, Paragould, Ark.; two sisters, Tina Bucy, Paris, Tenn., Melissa Peek, Fredonia; two stepbrothers, Danny Ford, Princeton, Bobby Dale Oakley, Cadiz; five stepsisters, Sharon McCraw and Joanne McCoy, both of Cadiz, Barbara Jean Donelson, Elizabeth Lane and Rose Oakley, Murray, and eight grandchildren.
