Merle Carl Houchin, 76, of Caldwell, Kansas, retired tool grinder for Raytheon and owner of Kansas Whitetail Outfitters, died June 17, 2014 at his home in Caldwell.

He was born the son of William Oria and Zenia Elizabeth (Cook) Houchin October 12, 1937 at Canton, Oklahoma. Carl was a 1957 graduate of Caldwell High School who enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling and was planning a trip to Estes Park the first part of July.

He is survived by his three daughters; Terrie Breitigan, Teresa Alexander and Delana Morris all of Wichita, KS; sister Eva May Houchin of Derby, KS; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Central Christian Church in Caldwell, Kansas.

Interment will be in the Caldwell City Cemetery, Caldwell, Kansas.

Memorials may be given in memory of Carl to the Kansas Humane Society or to the Central Christian Church
