(Melba) Clydene Harris, age 84, of Midlothian, TX passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 in Austin, TX. She was born on November 2, 1929 in Ovilla, TX to Clyde and Lois West. Clydene graduated from Red Oak High School in 1946. In 1950 she married Hubert Alex Branam and together they had three children, Dale, Tommy, and Donny. They divorced in 1955. Clydene married William (Bill) Harris of Mountain Peak, TX in 1960. In addition to raising her three sons, Clydene also worked full time for The Royal Couch Mattress Factory in Midlothian and later as a sales clerk for Ben Franklin's and CVS Pharmacy. She was a faithful member of the First Methodist Church of Midlothian, TX.
Clydene was a loving wife and devoted mother who always worked hard to provide for her family. Her life was centered on faith, family, and friends and her greatest joy was to be with people she loved surrounded by laughter.
Clydene was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Lois West, her sister Sherley West Pogue Cappleman, her beloved husband of 44 years Bill, and her eldest son Dale. She is survived by her brother Jerry West of Waxahachie and his wife Diane, along with their children Debbie and Johnny; son Tommy Branam of Austin, TX; son Donny Branam of Austin, TX, his wife Beverly, and their daughter Kate; Dale's daughters Carly Branam and Megan Branam of Austin, TX; sister-in-law Frances Harris of Dallas, TX; stepson Billy D. Harris of Scroggins, TX, his wife Liz, and their son Brian; and niece Davena Pogue of Waco, TX.
Visitation will be Friday, June 20, 2014 at Midlothian Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Midlothian Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with interment following at Midlothian Cemetery.
