Veatus Flynn, 86, Route 1, Nancy, died Monday at Somerset City Hospital following an illness of one year.

He was born at Naomi on October 9, 1887, the son of Jerry and Lucy P. Cohorn Flynn, both deceased.

He married the former Ada Jane Roberts on December 23, 1907 and she preceded him in death on December 29, 1972.

Survivors include eight children, Osten Flynn, Oval Flynn, and Finis Flynn, all of Nancy, Lilly Tarter of Faubush, Delotus Flynn of Science Hill, Doyal Flynn of Brownstown, Ind, Elveree Hislope of West Lebanon, Ind., and Ray Flynn of Allen Park, Mich.; 26 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Pulaski County and was a retired farmer and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Williamson and Rev. Noel Abbott officiating.

Burial will be in the Norfleet Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company.
