ALLEN THURMAN (Captain) VEATCH, 43 East Washington Street, died at the Western Maryland State Hospital Sunday after an illness of several months, aged 73 years. Born at Nicholasville, Kentucky, he was the son of John L. and Lucy (Allen) Veatch.
He was production manager of Use Industry at Maryland State Reformatory for Males, Breathedsville, for 20 years. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the 31st Infantry, and was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
He is survived by wife, Charlotte (Carr) Veatch; one son, Richard Allen Veatch, Hagerstown.
Services were held at St. John's Episcopal Church; interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery; A.K. Coffman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
