Mrs. Annie Milroy
Mrs. Lafayette Milroy, 88, of Rhinecliff died Monday morning in the Northern Dutchess Health Center where she had been a patient the last year. She had been a resident of Rhinecliff for most of her life and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church where she was active in various societies. She was also a member of the Woman's Club of the Morton Memorial Library. During World War I she was Red Cross chairman of Rhinecliff.
The former Miss Annie Gainey was born in Staatsburg on Sept. 4, 1864, a daughter of the late John and Ann Gainey. Her first husband, James Leary, died many years ago, and Mr. Milroy, a year ago. In her earlier life Mrs. Milroy lived for a time in Orange, N. J.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Michael Bolan of Orange; three nieces, Mrs. William C. Hopkins and Mrs. Mary Wallace of East Orange, N. J. and Mrs. K. D. Alexander of Grantwood, N. J.; two nephews, John F. Leary of South Orange, N. J., and William A. Leary of Deteroit, Mich.; step-children, Charles Leo Milroy of Rhinecliff, William D. milroy of Woodhaven, L. I., Mrs. Daniel Lynch of Huntington, L. I., Mrs. Frank Murphy of Freeport, L. I. and Sister Mary Yvonne of St. Mary's Academy and a step-nephew, the Rev. F. Parker Milroy of Peru, S. A.
Funeral services were conducted at the William E. White Funeral Home at 9:30 a. m. this Thursday and at St. Joseph's Church at 10 a. m., when a Mass of Requiem was offered. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery. Bearers were Kenneth Milroy, Guy Milroy, Robert Milroy, Louis Asher, Gerard Kipp and Lester Butler.
