She was born April 2, 1956 in Gloversville, the daughter of Doug VanNostrand and Sally Cranker VanNostrand.
Deborah was educated in the Gloversville School District, where she graduated in 1974.
Mrs. Holmes was employed as a Home Health Aide for Visiting Nurses in Johnstown.
Deborah was always there to help others.
She enjoyed watching football, especially the New England Patriots. Deborah also loved to watch QVC, but most of all she loved her family, and her dogs. Deborah enjoyed spending lots of quality time with her grandchildren. Deborah was also a caregiver to her grandmother Hazel for over six years. All who knew her will sadly miss her.
Deborah is survived by her husband Michael Holmes of Gloversville, as well as their children James Holmes and Jenea Hayes (David) also of Gloversville. In addition to her parents other survivors include longtime companion of 19 years Allen Baurle of Gloversville; two brothers Bill VanNostrand (Jennifer Brownell) and Jimmy VanNostrand of Gloversville; one sister Jodi VanNostrand (Tim Eagan) of Gloversville and three granddaughters Alexyss, Arianna, and Aleigha Hayes.
Deborah is also survived by two nieces Emily VanNostrand and Sheyann Eagan; three nephews Billy VanNostrand Jr., Austin Eagan, and Joshua VanNostrand. Several cousins, aunts and uncles also survive.
Deborah was predeceased by her maternal grandparents: Irene Biron and Emmett "Zip" Cranker and also her paternal grandparents: Hazel and William VanNostrand.
Interment will take place at Ferndale Cemetery in Johnstown.
