Gaylord L. DeLong, 73, of 297 Black Hill Road, Franklin, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Canonsburg Hospital. Born March 17, 1941, in Franklin, Gaylord was the son of the late Wallace and Joan McKean DeLong.
He served in the U.S. Army, and worked for UPS for 30 years before his retiring in 1995. He attended the Christ United Methodist Church, enjoyed hunting, firearms, doing handyman work, and spending time with his family.
On July 1, 1961, he married Sally Lesko, who survives, with a daughter, Margaret M. O'Neal and husband, Brian J., of McMurray; brother, George DeLong and wife, Faith, of Mars; and sister, Sandra Hughes and husband, Richard, of Franklin; grandchildren, Heather Leifheit and husband, Jeremy, of Springfield, Ohio, Jonelle Waldron and husband, Tim, of McMurray and Julia O'Neal of McMurry; and great-grandchildren, Grace and J.D. Leifheit. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Gaylord DeLong Jr.; and a sister, Linda Hood.
Services for Gaylord are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery.
