A native of Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late Cleveland and Bernice (Jones) Dempsey.
A retired employee of Her Majesty, she was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Beth Allen, and Brooks and Marty Allen, all of Columbia; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles C. and Geneva Dempsey of Campobello; two half brothers, Robert P. Dempsey of Union and Arthur L. Dempsey and his wife, Norma, of Greenville; stepmother, Eleanor Alexander of Greer; five grandchildren, Drew Allen, Zachary Allen, Morgan Allen Kemper, Margaret Allen and Elizabeth Allen; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Lonnie Shull. Burial followed in Wood Memorial Park.
